PMA
Racing Team - Superbikes
PM
Australasia Pty Ltd established the PMA Racing division in January 2002, to provide
support for the operational and development costs of maintaining a Racing Motor
Cycle for promising riders. We are the
major sponsors for this Victorian based Motor Cycle Racing effort.
Our aim is to provide assistance to develop and
test a competitive Superbike and to aid the advancement of the rider's
skills. Currently the team is under
development competing in the Local Series and working towards the Australian
National Series.
In 2003, PMA Racing début in the Victorian Club
Series with a Honda 900cc "Fireblade" supporting Number 145, coming
11th overall in the first year of competition. This good result was achieved after missing
one complete round and losing all race points in two other rounds due to
accidents.
In 2004, while racing the Honda supporting the new number
11, the bike crashed heavily in the first round and the resulting injuries to
the rider stopped the team racing into early 2005.
In mid 2005, the team purchased an ex works
Yamaha 1000cc "R1", currently Number 14 and retained the Number 11
Honda 900cc machine. Development of both
machines has continued successfully over last few years with us concentrating
on racing the Yamaha locally.
For 2010, PMA Racing Team will continue
competing in the Victorian Local and State Series with the Number 14 Yamaha;
retaining the Number 11 Honda as a second bike.
