PMA Racing Team
  • Established in January 2002
  • Major sponsors

We are proud to be the major sponsors for this Australian based Motor Cycle Racing effort.

It is our aim here at PM Australasia Pty Ltd, with our PMA Racing division is to provide assistance to develop and test a competitive Superbike and to help aid and support the advancement of the rider’s skills.  Currently the team is competing in the Local Series, working towards the Australian National Series.

History of the PMA Racing Team

In 2003, PMA Racing debuted in the Victorian Club Series with a 1989 Honda 900cc 'Fireblade' Bike, supporting Number 145.  We were placed 11 th overall in the first year of competing. This achievement of which we are immensely proud, was obtained despite missing one complete round and losing all race points in two other rounds due to accidents.

In 2004, the Honda supporting the new Number 11, crashed heavily during the first round of the Club Series and the resulting injuries to the rider and significant amount of damage to the machine prevented the team racing for the rest of the year.

In late 2004, PMA purchased an ex works Yamaha 1000cc 'R1' that had recently competed in the Australian Superbike Series.  Supporting the Number 14 we returned to competitive racing with the R1 in mid 2005.

Development of the Yamaha R1 has continued successfully over last few years with us concentrating on racing the bike within Victoria.

Since 2012, high workloads for both PM Australasia Pty Ltd and the Rider has prevented our team from serious racing, being unable to attend every competition round.  As a result, despite being very competitive when on track, PMA Racing has been unable to acculiminate sufficient points over the racing years to reflect our advancements.

In May 2014, PMA Racing purchased a road damaged 2012 1000cc Kawasaki ZX10R and has build this machine into our latest track weapon. The new ZX10R has been assigned Number 62 and commenced on track development in 2021.

PMA Racing retains the Honda 'Fireblade' and Yamaha 'R1' as back up machines.

PMA Racing retains its commitment to motorcycle racing and intends to continue development within the Local Racing Series, aiming to compete and be competitive within the Australian Series.
